Hello Family & Friends!

I’ve made a commitment to walk 60 miles on July 27-29, 2001 from San Jose to San Francisco with my sister and 3000 other people to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer!

To be eligible to walk, I must raise at least $1,900 in pledges by June 29, 2001. I’d like to raise much more! Will you consider becoming one of my sponsors?

To prepare for this challenge, I have been training since February. I am currently walking 35 miles per week and by July I intend to be walking at least 50 miles/wk. As most of you know, this event will be the most challenging thing I’ve ever done!

This walk started out as a personal journey of health & fitness but has turned into something so much larger than that. Through the organizers of this event, the expos I’ve attended and the many people I’ve spoken with who are survivors of breast cancer, I’ve realized that one person really can make a difference. My efforts to raise money and commitment to walk on July 27 will give hope, education, and medical treatment to another human being living with breast cancer.
